Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

OnyxVision Systems™ ("we", "us", "our") is a bespoke security architecture firm serving homeowners and businesses across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), including Toronto, Oakville, Mississauga, Vaughan, and surrounding communities.

We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Canadian provincial privacy legislation.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our services:

  • Contact Information: Name, phone number, and service area when you submit a security audit request through our website.
  • Project Details: Property type, project scope, and any details you voluntarily share about your security requirements.
  • Technical Data: Basic analytics (page views, device type) collected only with your explicit consent via our cookie banner.

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as financial data, government identification numbers, or biometric data through our website.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your personal information is used exclusively to:

  • Respond to your security audit requests and provide consultations.
  • Schedule site visits and coordinate installation services.
  • Communicate project updates and follow-up support.
  • Improve our website experience (aggregated, anonymized analytics only).

4. Privacy-First AI & Local Edge Processing

OnyxVision Systems™ installations are designed with privacy at the core. Our security systems utilize local edge computing — meaning your camera footage is processed and stored on hardware physically located in your property (The Hub), not in a remote cloud data centre.

  • Zero cloud dependency: Your video feeds never leave your premises unless you explicitly configure remote access.
  • On-device AI: Motion detection, person recognition, and smart alerts are processed locally on your NVR hardware.
  • Your data, your control: You retain full ownership and control over all recorded footage at all times.

5. Data Residency & Storage

All lead information submitted through our website is processed and stored on Canadian infrastructure. We do not transfer personal data outside of Canada. Our workflow automation systems operate on servers located within Canadian jurisdiction.

6. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is never shared with:

  • Advertising networks or data brokers.
  • Social media platforms (unless you initiate contact via WhatsApp).
  • Any external entity without your explicit, informed consent.

The only exception is where disclosure is required by Canadian law or a valid court order.

7. Cookies & Analytics

Our website uses a consent-first approach to cookies. When you first visit our site, no tracking cookies are set. Analytics (Google Analytics 4) are only activated after you explicitly accept cookies via our consent banner.

  • IP anonymization is enabled by default.
  • You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies.
  • No third-party advertising cookies are used on our website.

8. Your Rights Under PIPEDA

As a Canadian resident, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Withdrawal: Withdraw your consent for us to use your personal information.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data from our systems.
  • Complaint: File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below. We will respond to your request within 30 calendar days as required by PIPEDA.

9. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted form submissions (HTTPS/TLS), secure server infrastructure, and restricted access controls. Only authorized personnel involved in fulfilling your service request have access to your contact information.

10. Data Retention

We retain your contact information only for as long as necessary to provide our services and maintain our business relationship. Lead information from security audit requests is retained for a maximum of 24 months from last contact. You may request earlier deletion at any time.
